Questions, answered

Are my images uploaded?

No. Your images are processed in your browser, on your own device, and are not uploaded to PrivaPress. Your browser loads the page and the image engine from this site, like any website.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no account, no email and nothing to install. Open a tool, add images and download the result.

Which image formats work?

You can add JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF and BMP. HEIC is in beta and only works when your browser can open it. Results can be saved as JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF.

How many images can I process at once?

Up to 100 at a time. Download one file, a selection, or everything as a ZIP.

Why can a result be larger than the original?

An image that is already well compressed may not get smaller, and a photo with a rotation tag has to be re-encoded to stay upright. PrivaPress shows the size change of every file, including increases, and never changes your original.

Does it remove location and camera data?

Yes. Remove Metadata and Smart Optimize remove EXIF data such as GPS location and camera details. This covers data stored in the file, not what is visible in the picture.
