Split an Image into a Grid, Free and Private
Choose a grid, move the cut lines if the pieces should not be equal, and download every piece or all of them as one ZIP.
Your image files never leave your device.

What it does
- Pick 2 × 2 or 3 × 3, or set any number of rows and columns up to 100 pieces.
- Drag the cut lines to make pieces of different sizes. Every pixel belongs to exactly one piece.
- Pieces are numbered row by row from the top left, so they sort in the right order in any folder.
How to use it
- Add a picture: drag it in, choose a file or paste it.
- Choose the number of rows and columns and adjust the cut lines.
- Download single pieces, or all of them as a ZIP.
Common uses
- A wide panorama cut into three squares for a swipe post.
- A photo turned into a 3 × 3 grid for a profile mosaic.
- A long screenshot cut into parts that are easy to read.
Formats
- Input: still JPG, PNG and WebP. Phone photos are turned upright using their rotation tag.
- Output: PNG, JPG or WebP for every piece. PNG and WebP keep transparency; JPG fills it with white.
Limits
- One picture at a time, up to 100 pieces (for example 10 × 10).
- A piece cannot be smaller than one pixel, so a very small picture cannot take a fine grid.
- Up to 50 MB; about 40 megapixels on a computer and 16 megapixels on a phone.
- Animated pictures (GIF, animated PNG or WebP) are not accepted.
Your picture stays on your device
The picture is split in your browser, on your own device, and is not uploaded to PrivaPress. The ZIP is built on your device too. Reloading the page removes the picture.
Questions
Is my picture uploaded?
No. Splitting and building the ZIP both happen in your browser on your own device.
Can the pieces be different sizes?
Yes. Drag the cut lines, or focus a line and use the arrow keys. Each line stays between its neighbours.
In what order are the pieces numbered?
Row by row, starting at the top left: 1, 2, 3 on the first row, then 4, 5, 6, and so on. The file names are padded with zeros so they sort correctly.
Will I lose any part of the picture?
No. The pieces cover the whole picture without gaps or overlaps.
How many pieces can I make?
Up to 100, for example 10 rows by 10 columns.
