Convert Images to JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF
Choose the format you need and add your images. Nothing is converted until you pick a format, and PrivaPress tells you before a conversion would lose transparency.

Good to know
- You pick the output format: JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF. There is no hidden default.
- JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas become white. You are told before you start.
- Converting to a lossless format such as PNG can make a file much larger. The result list shows the exact before and after sizes.
How to convert an image
- Choose the output format first: JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF. Nothing is converted until you do.
- Add your images: drag them in, choose files, or paste from the clipboard. Up to 100 at a time.
- Read the notes shown before you start, for example that transparent areas become white in JPG.
- Press Start, then download one file, a selection, or everything as a ZIP.
Supported formats
- Input: JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF and BMP. HEIC (iPhone photos) is in beta and only opens in browsers that can decode it; if yours cannot, the file is reported as unsupported.
- Output: JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF. The format you choose applies to every file in the batch.
- JPG has no transparency. PNG, WebP and AVIF can keep it.
- Animated GIFs: only the first frame is converted.
Example
A website will not accept your WebP image and asks for JPG or PNG. Choose JPG, add the file and press Start. If the image has a transparent background, choose PNG or WebP instead so the transparency is kept.
Limits
- Converting does not make a file smaller by itself. PNG is lossless and can be much larger than a JPG or WebP of the same picture. The result list shows the exact sizes.
- Converting between lossy formats, for example JPG to WebP, is a new lossy encode, so some fine detail can change.
- AVIF takes longer to encode than the other formats.
- To reach a specific file size, use the Target File Size tool.
Processed in your browser
Your images are converted in your browser, on your own device, and are not uploaded to PrivaPress. Your browser loads the page and the image engine from this site, like any website. Reloading the page removes the images you added.
