Merge & split PDF
Combine PDF files, preview and reorder pages, or split page ranges into separate downloadable PDFs.
Your files stay on your device. All conversion happens in your browser.
Use this page when you already have PDFs and want to rearrange them: join several files into one, keep only some pages, or cut one file into parts.
How to merge, extract or split PDF pages
- Choose Merge / extract pages and add two or more PDFs. Move up and Move down set the order of the files.
- Optional: type a selection such as 1-3,5 in the Pages box (it applies to each PDF), or press Preview pages to tick, reorder or remove single pages.
- Press Convert and download pages.pdf.
- To cut one file, choose Split into separate PDFs, add the PDF and type one page range per line, for example 1-3 and then 4-6. Each range becomes its own PDF.
What the settings do
- Page numbers start at 1. A selection such as 1-3,5 means pages 1, 2, 3 and 5.
- A selection typed in the Pages box applies to every PDF you added. When each file needs its own pages, use Preview pages.
- The ranges of a split can be downloaded one by one or together as split-pages.zip.
Measured example
We merged a 3-page and a 2-page A4 PDF and got a 5-page PDF of 2,731 bytes. With the selection 1-2 the result had 4 pages, because the selection applied to both files. Splitting the 5-page result with the two lines 1-2 and 3-5 gave part-1.pdf and part-2.pdf, also offered together as split-pages.zip.
Limits
- Pages are copied into a new PDF. Digital signatures, form fields and similar document features may not survive, so keep your originals.
- Everything runs in your browser, so very large PDFs depend on the memory of your device.
- The tool rearranges pages. It does not change what is written on them.
Questions about this page
Does the order of my files matter?
Yes. Files are merged in the order listed, and Move up and Move down change it. Inside Preview pages you can also reorder single pages.
Can I take only some pages out of a PDF?
Yes. Type the pages in the Pages box, for example 2-4, or tick pages after Preview pages. The result is a new PDF and your original is not touched.
