Remove Image Metadata (EXIF, GPS) in Your Browser

Photos often carry the place and time they were taken and the device that took them. Add your images to remove that information before you share them.

Your image files never leave your device.

Metadata removal deletes internal file information such as EXIF and GPS. It does not remove text, logos, watermarks or stickers visible in the image.

or drag and drop images here

Supports: JPG · PNG · WebP · AVIF · HEIC (beta) · GIF · BMP

Up to 100 images at once.

You can also paste an image (Ctrl+V or ⌘V).

Settings

Remove location and camera data. Pixels are copied unchanged; only a photo with a rotation tag is re-encoded so it stays upright.

Good to know

How to remove metadata from a photo

  1. Add your images: drag them in, choose files, or paste from the clipboard. Up to 100 at a time.
  2. Press Start. There are no settings to choose.
  3. Read the summary: it shows how many of your files contained location data.
  4. Download one file, a selection, or everything as a ZIP. Your originals are never changed.

What is removed and what is not

Example

A photo taken at home with location services on can carry the coordinates of your address. Before you post it, add it here and press Start: the summary tells you that one file contained location data, and the copy you download no longer has it. The picture itself looks the same.

Processed in your browser

Cleaning runs on your device. Your browser loads the page and the image engine from this site and works on your photos locally; they are not uploaded. Reloading the page removes the images you added.
