Add Text, Shapes and Arrows to an Image
Put text, boxes, circles, lines and arrows on top of a picture, move them until they sit right, and download the result.
Your image files never leave your device.
Drag a picture here, paste it, or choose a file.
JPG · PNG · WebP
What it does
- Add text with your choice of font, size, color and alignment, and move it anywhere on the picture.
- Draw rectangles, ellipses, lines and arrows with your own color, line width and opacity.
- Undo and redo every step. Your original file is never changed; you download a new picture.
How to use it
- Add a picture: drag it in, choose a file or paste it.
- Choose Text, Rectangle, Ellipse, Line or Arrow, then click or drag on the picture. Use Select and move to adjust.
- Choose the file format and download the finished picture.
Common uses
- A caption or a date on a photo.
- An arrow and a box that point out a part of a screenshot.
- A frame around the area that a bug report is about.
Formats
- Input: still JPG, PNG and WebP. Phone photos are turned upright using their rotation tag.
- Output: PNG, JPG or WebP. PNG and WebP keep transparency; JPG fills it with white.
Limits
- Fonts are the ones on your device: Sans-serif, Serif, Monospace and Rounded. No font file is added to the picture or downloaded.
- Text, shapes and the picture are saved together as one flat picture. Items cannot be edited again after you download it.
- Up to 50 MB; about 40 megapixels on a computer and 16 megapixels on a phone.
- It is a simple annotator, not a full design program: no layers panel, free drawing or filters.
Your picture stays on your device
The picture is edited in your browser, on your own device, and is not uploaded to PrivaPress. The text you type stays in the page. Reloading the page removes the picture and your edits.
Questions
Is my picture or my text uploaded?
No. The picture and the text you type stay in your browser, on your own device.
Which fonts can I use?
Four families that your device provides: Sans-serif, Serif, Monospace and Rounded. No font is downloaded, so there is no font licence to worry about. The look of a family can differ a little between devices.
Can I change the text after I download?
No. The download is a normal picture with the text drawn into it. Edit it here before you download, and keep the original file if you may want to change it later.
Can I undo a mistake?
Yes. Undo and redo go through every step: adding, moving, resizing, changing a color and deleting.
Does it work with Korean, Japanese and Chinese text?
Yes, as long as your device has a font for those characters, which phones and computers normally do.
